This unique historical property is very special. The renovated hotel’s suits are a delight. A very smooth check-in (we received an unexpected upgrade) and a very helpful butler were just the start of the services provided. We indulged in afternoon tea in the lobby area which was superb with tastes of Japan. The buffet breakfast options were all one could expect to set one up to enjoy the tourist attractions of the city. Dinner in the Tiffin Room was special and none of the selections disappointed. Our only regret was the shortness of our stay. There are other luxury hotels in Singapore but nothing as special as Raffles. From the impressive doormen, the butler and other service providers all provided a faultless service which made the stay memorable. You have to work hard to provide this level of hotel hospitality and they do at 1 Beach Road.

We had High Tea at Raffles today. It was superb. CK our maitre D was so knowledgeable and explained the flavours we were unfamiliar with. So much food, and the presentation was second to none. Pastries, sandwiches, sweets and scones were amazing. The rosewater jam and clotted cream on the scones was beautiful. Worth every cent. Just wonderful.

This is one of the best hotel stays I ever experienced. Staff were so professional and friendly. Such a wonderful place which is steeped in history.

Having stayed at raffles many years ago, the romance of this hotel was still in my memory. Sadly, from the start to finish I was left feeling rather deflated. The Hotel The hotel still looks the same on the surface, the facade and the rooms are still holding that old world charm. Upon arrival at the hotel we had the doors opened as if we were just coming to take a photo. Eventually they realised that I was checking in. Having already encountered sexism by two cab drivers, i was not getting a good feeling about this. Traveling with my son as a lone parent, I should have been welcomed with a hello and a smile at the very least. The door staff spend all of their time around the tourists and visitors to the hotel, they have no memory of who you are and they simply don’t have an ora of caring about the guests. The fittings are lovely, however you have to operate everything using an ipad which can be painful for some. When I stayed at the hotel in the past, they offered an unpacking service via the butler, although I was travelling and my luggage may not have looked the best, i should have still had the same service as anyone else. Maybe this is not on offer any longer. So i continued to live out of my luggage whilst there to see if anything would be organised which it was not. It would be a good Idea to assess the guests and the size of slippers that they require, rather than slippers that your feet hang of the back of. Toiletries, these were just ok and after i put the cream on, I didn’t like the after smell. In room dining, well nothing we ordered for breakfast apart from the Asian style breakfast was right, so on the last day, I didn’t bother ordering it to the room and I certainly didn’t wasn’t to eat in the breakfast room of terrace as they smelled and appear dirty. On my first day there was a child with the biggest amount of chewing gum stringing between their hands and their mouth. I did complain, this was disgusting to see walking through the dining area. I took a seat inside after i wiped the crumbs off and then proceeded to sit out side. It’s just sad this place feels this way. The Staff Some staff were just rather Judgey, they shouldn’t be, im a paying guest. Others were courteous and couldn’t do more for you. I had an incident with a few staff and on one occasion this resulted in the manager apologising profusely after one of the male staff at between 10.30 - 11.00PM decided that they would judge me yet again as i questioned my table for the following days afternoon tea. The uniform that some staff members were wearing looks shabby, i did inform the manager that when i was at the mall, the uniforms in the coffee shop were much cleaner and looked after better. One of your female reception managers was showing someone to their room and waited until i moved out of their way. I passed her and continued on my way, she didn’t say thank you and of course, this should have been the case that she should have moved. Atmosphere Outside the rooms was lovely and gives you the felling of being in a city and allows you to gain that feeling of what raffles is about. The hotel itself sells their lobby out as a tea venue, so guests are walking past what appears to feel like a canteen. Food & Drink Breakfast room and terrace is dirty and smells. My last photo is of a pile of dirty plates which sadly one person was trying to clear, meanwhile others could have helped him with, such as the manager to picked his arm up and checked his time as i walked in. Let’s start with the drinks - my son was given alcohol twice, not once, but twice they mixed up the drinks and he was drinking alcohol. Also, the pina coloada, its weird. Stop trying to be different, it’s just weird. A mix of what can be described as a pina colada mixed with a mojito. It was hot and i just consumed my drinks, as id ordered food. The Phad Thai tasted random, however the spring rolls were ok. Afternoon tea - sorry this was the worst tea ever. I am a massive afternoon tea person, however I couldn’t believe what i was getting. A rolled slice of cold omelette, not to mention a crab stick sushi roll. The Welcome Initial reception at the door was shameful/abysmal at the front of the hotel Reception made us feel welcome and I was told that the butler would be along to our room to check us in soon. Would I return to raffles? I feel that raffles are cutting corners on the amount of staff they have and that the hotel has lost what made it great! Many staff look unhappy and it doesn’t create a happy environment to visit. This is a luxury brand and product being ruined. The biggest smile we received was upon our departure and the receptionist waved us off. No….. just NO!!! PS. Have you seen the hotel scene in crazy rich Asians when the mum arrives in london. This is how I felt! For the record I have stayed in that london hotel and treated like a queen.

Only spent a single night here and I wished it could have been more. Centrally placed for Central Market the hotel was very opulent and maintained a lot of its original features. Great bars and the buffet breakfast was to die for Such big beds very confortable. WiFi however wasn’t the best but can’t complain at such an amazing place
